dc.description.abstractThe article deals with the process approach to the strategic management of a general purpose educational institution. The essence of the concept ‘strategic management of a general purpose educational institution’ is revealed. It is noted that the strategic management of the organization in the context of the process approach is considered as a sequence of implementation of interrelated actions aimed at achieving the final result. The sequence of stages of implementation of strategic management of a general purpose educational institution is analyzed: strategic analysis, which involves analysis of the external and internal environment of a general purpose educational institution; definition of the mission and strategic goals of a general purpose educational institution, which serve as the basis for implementing the overall strategy for its development as a coherent system; the formation of a set of strategic alternatives and, on the basis of evaluation of their prospects for the selection of the best; development of a strategic plan based on the choice of one or several alternative options for the development of a general purpose educational institution that can be used simultaneously or in a complex, as well as the development of specific programs for the implementation of such a plan; approval and implementation of the strategy through the application of modern effective methods and tools of strategic management; evaluation of the results of the implementation of the strategy and possible changes to the strategic plan, for which a system of indicators is being developed, the use of which serves as an information base for making decisions on the need to make changes to the chosen strategy for the development of a general purpose educational institution. It is proved that the process approach helps managers to maintain conditions that affect the quality of the functioning of a general purpose educational institution, identify and formulate management of key processes in the development of all spheres of its activity.uk_UA
