The problem of translation is one of the most important in intercultural communication. The main task is development in the forms of self-education and training to achieve professional self-realization and improve the qualification of philologists – future translators. The personal and professional qualities of a modern specialist in the field of translation are considered within two features: intercultural communication and the implementation of translation project.The article provides information on the formation of cultural competence of future philologists-translators. The formation of the basic steps that make up the elements of the modeling of method competence of future translators in the process. Modern society needs experienced translators. As a result, the role of the translator in the international communication activity, competence as a component of translation activity are characterized. The article analyzes the key competence of lifelong learning withpoint of view of problematic issues facing higher education in the 21st century. Сompetence the ability tolearn is recognized as the most important characteristic of a successful modern professional translator. There is oral and written translation. The oral translation is necessary for an interpreter to successfully perform professional function, for example, good memory or native languages. In the field of written translation there are skills such as knowledge of computer translation system in translation activities. The conclusion of the article can be used for training philologists – future translators of oral and written translation.
