Анотація

Summary. The work is dedicated to an urgent topic – the competence of a higher school teacher in performing his/her professional communication, which is considered as an indicator of teacher’s competitiveness. The article presents author’s vision of “the competence of a higher school teacher in performing his/her professional communication” as the phenomenon, which is treated as an integral personal totality. The totality envisages conscious understanding of the value of pedagogical communication and determines purposeful activity directed to the acquirement of such communication, realization of the necessity of self-understanding as a communicative identity (personal pluses and minuses), perception of ethical norms and rules of communicative interaction by means of verbal, non-verbal, computer communication, execution of an examination of one’s own communicative actions and decisions made. The phenomenon is also treated as an integrity of generalized communicative skills and developed emotional intellect. The work presents the results of structural analysis of the phenomenon “the competence of a higher school teacher in performing his/her professional communication”, which is taken as a system of such interconnected components as comprehensive attitude to professional communication, complex of generalized communicative skills, emotional intellect. The essence of each of the components of the phenomenon under investigation has been substantiated. The author has come to the conclusion that deep understanding of the essence of the competence under investigation permits to define clearly the goal of training of future teachers of higher school while doing their masters.
