Документ Models of economic openness of European countries and Ukraine: a comparative analysis(Університет імені Альфреда Нобеля, 2023) Задоя, Олександр Анатолійович; Дук, Фан МінгThe article examines the question of whether the openness of an individual country's economy corresponds to the level of economic development. An analysis of the models of economic openness used in a number of European countries, their comparison with the Ukrainian model, and proposals regarding the principles of building a post-war foreign economic model of our country were made. In the process of research, a system of absolute and relative indicators of the openness of the economy was formed, and a number of factors affecting the degree of openness were also determined. The concepts of financial and foreign trade openness are highlighted. A more detailed analysis of openness was carried out by calculating the ratio of net exports to GDP. Relative indicators of openness and pairwise correlation were also calculated for various indicators that were used to calculate the level of foreign trade and financial openness of the studied countries, in particular: export of goods and services; foreign direct investment, GDP and export quota. According to the results of the study, it was established that the foreign trade model of Ukraine should be dynamic, which changes its type from falling to growing with a gradual transition to a positive value of net exports. The model of financial openness must change in the direction of transition from formed to dynamic with positive dynamics of the openness indicator. However, the growth must be at the expense of currency flows that do not create debt, since the level of public debt (especially external debt) will be too high anyway. For this one conditions, the growing negative value of the net international investment position will not pose an additional threat to the country.
